Magazine to feature Joey Miller

Woodward sixth grader Joey Miller, one of the top youth wrestlers in Oklahoma, will be featured in a national magazine in October. "American Profile," a weekly publication which is
part of the Sunday package of the Woodward News, will have Miller's story in ,October, said Joey's mother,Novell Miller.
"They interviewed her last May and took the photos about a month ago, " Novell Miller said.

Joey Miller has won a state youth championship wrestling against boys and is a two-time national
girls champion. She qualified for state six of the seven Years she has wrestled cormpetitively.
This season, Miller won the national girls championship in Kingsport, Tenn.,and also won the Triple Crown at the meet, which is freestyle, folkstyle and Greco-Roman divisions.
Miller finished 70-20 for the season.
She has also been nominated to run in the Olympic Torch Relay in January.
"We haven't heard back from them yet," Joey Miller said.
During the summer Miller attended camps at Oklahoma State University and North Carolina State.
At OSU, she was second in the camp and was the camp champion at North Carolina State. To earn that title, Miller won a takedown tournament and the wrestling tournament at her weight .
While biding her time for the next wrestling season -her first tournament is Oct.27 - Miller is spending time enjoying another sport.
Miller, who will turn 13 in November, is a safety on one of the Kids, Inc., sixth grade football teams.
