Joey Miller of Woodward competed a strong spring season with four gold medals and a triple crown plus a outstanding wrestler award at national tournaments. Miller, a student at Woodward Middle School, won three gold medals at the AAU Lafemme Nationale in Kingsport . Tennessee.She swept her matches in folkstyle, freestyle, and greco-roman to win the tournaments triple crown award. Then, she took part in the United States Girls Wrestling Association Nationals in Lake Orion,Michigan.In that tournament, Miller won all of her matches in her bracket by fall and received the tournaments outstanding wrestler award. The USGWA is considered the toughest female tournament in the nation and drew 420 wrestlers from all 50 states. This was Joey's second straight championship in the tournament.
