Fairview Knights Take First at Fairview Invitational Tournament 2000

The 130 bracket had Alex McDonald, Grandview, pitted against Fairview's Cathilee Albert (Sr). In a contest that went the full 6 minutes with lots of action, Fairview was held scoreless through the end of the first period, 7-0. After a quick reversal in the next period, Albert quickly scored 4 points for a takedown and back points, but had to settle for a reversal at the end of the second period for a 9-4 score. Albert took second place with a final score of 11-4.

Northglenn 12/06/00
The JV improved their record to 2-0 with a win over Northglenn. The final score was 51-23. Highlights include two quick pins, one by Tim Burchett (135) with a time of :30, and the other by Charles Nuttall (125) :40. Other wrestlers to improve their pin records were: Tim Jacobs (119) 2:40, Sean Coughlin (152) 4:51, David Marucheau (160) 4:30, Justin McReynolds (189) 1:52 and David Valega (HWT) 4:47. Other winners were Cathilee Albert by decision, 9-6 and Mike Whitten by default.

JV Knights at Englewood Tournament

December 9, 2000

The Fairview JV Knights came home victorious from the Englewood tournament having earned 242 points, with Cherry Creek coming in second with 205 points, and Heritage earning a third with 167 points.

The entire tournament was a highlight for Fairview. Fairview had 9 wrestlers in the championship round, and 5 of those matches were against wrestlers from Cherry Creek. We had 4 wrestlers in the consolation round. First places were earned by Tim Jacobs (119) 1:35, Charles Nuttall (125) 1:04, Cathilee Albert (130) 2:55, David Marucheau (160) 1:20, Justin McReynolds (189) 0:56, and David Valega (HWT) 0:49. Second places were earned by Tim Burchett (135), Jordan Manzione (140) and Sean Coughlin (152). Third places were earned by Brian Cecil (103) 2:01, Ted Metzroth (112) 7-2, Ben Condon (145) 0:45 and Jeff Stoffel (171) 5:12.
