'Animal' Hamaguchi may act as special coach

The Japan Wrestling Federation is considering employing former professional wrestler Heigo "Animal" Hamaguchi as a special coach until the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Hamaguchi, whose daughter Kyoko won bronze for Japan in the 72-kilogram division at last summer's Athens Games, is already scheduled to act as special coach at the women's wrestling world cup in Clermont-Ferrand, France, on May 20-21, in which Kyoko will compete.

But national team director Hideaki Tomiyama said Tuesday that Hamaguchi would stay on at least until this autumn's world championships in Budapest.
